manufacturing week 49

Very serious pre-prototype meeting with paul iby.

The august voting winner and fashion newcomer said: "The winner
model rubella is one out of 9 shirt models. I think useabrand will do a good job
on manufacturing my design".
What´s so funny? :)
New SS12 prototypes just arrived. fitting, measuring, quality check...

Fitting, measuring and testing at the same time is not an easy task (have you seen my strained face expression?).
Apart from at least 3 personal assistants, we noticed that some cute fitting models would be more than useful!
So if you have size 36, please pass by, you will help Anna to avoid wrinkles.
Dress by leazeichnet. Just arrived and already back at the manufacturer.
Unfortunately we found a quality failure so we had to send all the beautiful dresses back to the apparel factory in hungry.
Sorry guys. Haste makes waste. ♥♥♥
More next week...

‚NO taking
pictures, please!‘ These are not
really the first words I’ve expected, when I entered Kunsthalle Wien for
visiting the long time awaited ‚Vanity‘ exhibition. But leaving the doors
couple of hours (!) later totally rebalanced my first bad mood. Thanks F.C.
Gundlach for providing your extending collection of high quality fashion
photography – consisting of impressive works from early 40’s G. Hoyningen-Huene
over Helmut Newton to legendary Peter Lindbergh from nowadays.
But
the exhibition’s start was, of course, dedicated to the mastermind’s himself
photographs. Started off with Pop-Art-like works for Brigitte, the exhibition cleverly
guides through the history of significant fashion photography. Strolling
through the decent concrete halls, which pure decency let clearly focus on the
work only, you come across with all decade’s most beautiful pictures, basically
held in toned-down black and white tones, until you finally recognize a mash of
color backwards of the venue – at least since then you know you’ve arrived in
the here and now – the era of David LaChapelle, German Armin Morbach and
Schuller among others.
That fashion photography does not
always have to seem acted and theatrical, the wall on the upper floor clearly
proved. There is a whole wall, collaged with streetstyle pics, dedicated to
mister THE SATORIALIST Scott Schuman. Nearly reached the end of every
fashion-adorer’s dream, another wall full of significant magazine cover’s,
collected through the decades, guide you to some couches, inviting you to
browsing some fashion mag’s as the visit’s closure – for further couple of hours!

Photography between Gender and Lifestyle

date: Nov 11 to Jan 22 2012
daily 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Thursday 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
venue: KUNSTHALLE wien, halle 2
Museumsplatz 1, 1070 Vienna
No
fashion, please! – the rejection of traditional ideas of fashion and
beauty characterizes the exhibition of the Kunsthalle Wien’s autumn
program focusing on photography and fashion. Nineteen solo presentations
outline the contemporary international photography scene that explores
the fundamental relationship between bodies and clothes, the dialectics
between the form of the body and its appearance. The selected
photographers are rooted in the tradition of body art and strongly rely
on references to installations, ceremonies, and rituals. The media
strategies employed span from staged photographic images, projections,
and performances to body sculptures, video and film works.
Participating
artists are: Chan-Hyo Bae, Tracey Baran, Jeff Bark, Leigh Bowery/
Fergus Greer, Steven Cohen/Marianne Greber, Philip-Lorca diCorcia,
Matthias Herrmann, Lea Golda Holterman, Izima Kaoru, Luigi & Luca,
Sandra Mann, Martin & The evil eyes of Nur, Brigitte Niedermair,
Erwin Olaf, Alex Prager, Hanna Putz, Viviane Sassen, Sophia Wallace,
Bruce Weber
